I was born on the 6th of November in Wels (Upper Austria). My favourite toys were my stuffed animals, I was convinced they were alive. I started to play the piano around 8. My older sister started to play the flute but she didn’t like it very much, she stopped and I took over. For six years I was playing in a brass band in my hometown. I especially liked playing the piano and though I may not have been practicing a lot, I never wanted to stop and continued playing. When I was fourteen I noticed a girl at school who wanted to go to Linz to a school that focused on music and I decided I wanted to go there too. I was fifteen when I started at the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium in Linz. It was an important step for me and I loved this school. My first voice lessons were classical. It was then when I started getting to know my own voice. I knew I wanted to become a singer. I just didn’t know how. There was a girl at school with an incredible voice and I found out that she studied Jazzvocals at the Conservatory and I thought this is what I want to do. After graduation I moved to Vienna applying for different music schools and starting to prepare for the admission tests. After some years of working, some detours, teaching kids and taking lessons at a private conservatory I got into the Universtiy for Music in Vienna when I was 22. I was singing in a Popband called Roh Lex. I left Vienna to study in Gothenburg for a year. I am very grateful for this year, I spend a lot of time by myself and got to know myself a little better. The school, the students and the teachers were a great inspiration to me and it was in that year when Chet Baker started teaching me and I fell in love with Billie Holiday. I met mathias rüegg at school in Vienna right before I left and our collaboration started immediately. It changed me and my life. I started conscious practicing and I continued struggling with it. I can’t say if I chose him or he chose me, but deep down we both knew it meant a chance for the both of us. My Winterjourney started right there – from Gothenburg – to Franz Schubert – to Gone Too Far. 2012 I signed with Universal. In February 2013 Gone Too Far came out and mathias and I started our journey with Ingrid Oberkanins, Hans Strasser and Fabian Rucker at the Porgy and Bess in Vienna. We toured and continued working and in 2014 I fell in love with two poets – Heinrich Heine and Rainer Maria Rilke.
That’s where I am right now - in the middle of my poet’s love.
